Public Scholars for the Future, 2022 Selected for the inaugural cohort of UC Davis Public Scholars for the Future Program. Learned how to integrate community-centered theories, methods, and techniques into disciplinary field of study, research design, and methods. 

Community Advocacy for Early-Career Scientists, AGU, 2021 Attended a workshop led by the Scientist Action and Advocacy Network (ScAAN) and Virginia Scientist-Community Interface (V-SCI). Learned best practices for early-career scientists responsibly engaging with community-led environmental advocacy. Defined evidence-based advocacy, and discussed how to get involved (i.e., grass-tips model), common pitfalls, and tools for building partnerships with community advocates, legal, and scientific experts. 

National Tribal and Indigenous Climate Conference, Virtual, 2020 Attended training for cultivating inter-generational learning and action for climate adaptation, and co-production of knowledge: fish, and wildlife management strategies. BIOS Coral Reef Ecology: Reef Response to Environmental Change, Bermuda, 2018
An intensive course on biology and ecology of tropical corals. Integrated, interdisciplinary program comprised of lectures, laboratory exercises, and field (SCUBA) surveys. The course culminated with oral presentations, based on analyses and research on the data collected in field and the lab.

Examined evidence of geological processes related to the Cambro-Ordovician Taconic in Eastern Ontario and the Quebec Appalachians.
Bermuda Field Seminar
Studied processes and deposition of modern and ancient deposition on the Bermuda Platform.

Assisted with interpretation and sampling of core from Frasnian stromatoporoid reefs. Chose and collected samples for undergraduate thesis.

Trained on LA-ICP-MS, MC-ICP-MS, Silicate Extraction line, and clean Lab techniques while completing an independent research project on the movement of uranium species in lakes of Northern Saskatchewan (Canada).

3 Month Field Season. Designed sampling grids, created SOP, piloted use of Termite mounds as a proxy for exploration of copper deposits.
